Salvage or Repair

Many business are using bespoke applications that have reached the end of their life. Business requirements change, technology moves on, or perhaps new users want to do things in a different way.

Sometimes people lose contact with a developer or, in the worst case, that person is no longer available to carry on the work. You may even be left with a project that is incomplete, or you may have fallen out with the provider.

These are all situations that we come across surprisingly often.

Many advisors will suggest that you just start again, and write off any investment so far, rather then throwing good money after bad. This may, of course, be very good advice, but it may also be based on a commercial as opposed to a technical opinion.
